Senior Outreach
The Senior Outreach Program was developed by the Clear Lake Emergency Medical Corps as a way of helping seniors in our area prepare for disasters of all sizes. Our members dedicate their time to visit with qualified seniors once a month, assisting them with programs such as Vial of Life, Fast-HX, and the Harris County hurricane evacuation registry for special needs. For further information please feel free to contact us at Senior.Outreach@clemc.us .

During our visits, Emergency Medical Technicians will help you fill out a Vial of Life form, providing detailed information about your medical history and current medications. This information will be kept in a marked medicine bottle inside the door of your refrigerator to allow our medical personnel, who are trained where to search, easy access to your important medical information if the need arises. A Vial of Life sticker is also available to place on your front door to easily alert emergency responders to your participation in the program.
|
During our initial visit, information such as history, medications, hospital preference, and personal physician will be gathered and placed in a secure database within our mobile dispatch system. In the event an ambulance is sent to your location, EMS crews will be able to access this information via computer and become familiar with you and your medical conditions before they arrive on scene saving valuable time and expediting your treatment.
