Take me fishing.
Because I'm growing up too fast.
Take me fishing.
And show me that worms really aren't that icky.
Take me fishing.
And I'll know you have time for me.
Take me fishing,
Because my wedding is sooner than you think.

Get the Family Involved!

Parks around the state are celebrating our fishing heritage by holding special family-oriented fishing events that are long on fun and easy to join. Many of the events include prizes donated by local businesses!

Search our Calendar section for 'Fishing: Free Fishing in State Parks' for:

·       Junior Angler Fishing Clinics geared especially for kids to help them learn basic fishing skills through fun, hands-on activities;

·       Youth Fishing Derbies for those who already have the basic skills and enjoy a little competition;

·       Fly Fishing Clinics for ages 13 and up who want to try their hand at this increasingly popular sport;

·       Advanced Fishing Clinics (check with the park for specific topics); and

·       Fishing with the Ranger or Fishing with an Expert.

So get your family outdoors this summer, enjoy these special 'Free Fishing in State Parks' events at your state parks and create memories to last a lifetime!
